14 (or so) Months

This kid is AWESOME!!!  I think every stage of his life I've said it's my favorite...well, this is no exception. We are loving having this kid and just seeing all that he can do, his personality, and his skills. He regularly cracks us up and its just a joy to have him around. David and I talked last night about how glad we were we had him. We are not known to have the best luck in the world and we both joked that we did something right to have a great kid like him.

Here's some things that he has been up recently:
- He weighs about 27 pounds and is tall as well. He's solid and strong. I walked into our front room the other day and he had picked up my 5 lb. dumbbells with two hands and was carrying them around the house. We hoped for a quarterback but I think we got a lineman.

- He can say: "Dada" (his favorite), "Mama", "Paw-Paw" (which is what we call my dad), "Hot" (also used correctly in context, i.e. the stove, fireplace), "That", "Dog" "Cat".

- He can make reference to alot of animals and their sounds. His favorite is "What does an alligator say?" And he swings his hands together and says "Snap" or "Map". He pounds his chest for gorilla, he says "Ha-Ha" for a monkey and started to kind of grunt twice for "Bark-Bark".

-He can hold up his finger for one. At Christmas his cousin was getting a "talking to" at the table and when Aunt Kiki said You have 3 chances, and this is number one." Matthew raised up one finger and said "un". Hilarious.

- He walks everywhere and tries to run. He loves football and has about 10 of them at our house. He loves his outdoors.

- He has the sweetest nature and really is a good kid. He's laidback unless he wants something badly and he'll get upset. He also is very determined and wants to learn how to do things and likes to be shown how and then try to do it. David and I have come to appreciate this and let him explore this world he's living in. We feel that has allowed him to really grow in his independence and trusting himself. It also helps him know that we'll be there to teach him but we know he can do it as well.

- He laughs alot and Mommy knows where all the tickle spots are. He really loves to praised and just beams with pride when we do.

I guess that's about it. Of course, I know there is more. He is doing great, we are loving each other and just enjoy being a family.
