So, I'm not really into making resolutions. Or, at least calling them that, it makes me feel like I'm setting myself up to fail. So, we'll call them goals, aspirations, dreams, or just things I should be doing anyway but procrastinate doing.
1) David and I give ourselves $15/week for us to spend on whatever we want. So this year, I'm going to save $30 out of that each month and donate to an organization that assists the needs of the African people. I have already done some research and think I've found a great organization to give to. Why Africa, well, I have a heart for the suffering and they are. I also feel that my $30 will go farther economically over there than it would in the states.
2) Join a Bible study. I think this would be good for me overall.
3) Do an Olympic distance triathlon. That's 1 mile swimming, 25 mile bike ride, and 6 mile run. I did the sprint last year, so I think I really need the challenge this year.
4) Have a date night once a month with my hubby. So, babysitters, make your reservations.
5) Go water skiing during the summer once a weekend. This is my all time favorite activity and I haven't done it in 2 years!! 2 years ago I was pregnant and last year we had Matthew and just never made the time. So this year, no excuses I'll be carving those waves.
6) Finish my hours for my social work clinical license. This should be done in about 9 more months. After that I will sit (and pass...power of positive thinking) the clinical test and then I will hopefully pursue in the next few years a private practice counseling opportunity.
7) Most importantly, continue to strive to be the best wife, mommy, daughter, sister and friend to all those in my life.
David and I have our goals for us as a couple, but he has those outlined in Excel sheets and foreign things that I don't understand. These goals are ones just for me as an individual.
Sound doable?!?!...I think so. Ask me next year how these are going.
