Big Boy Bed

Last night Matthew spent his first night in his crib...his "Big Boy Bed". We had originally planned to transition him last week, but David was out of town so there was no way I was doing that alone. Earlier this week I asked David if he was ready to transition. Thinking he would say "Sure" he surprised me with "I could probably wait another week." I put it aside but yesterday I just felt strongly that we should transition him. My motivation is to have him very use to his bed before I go back to work.

I moved his monitor and everything in there during the day yesterday and had him take naps in there yesterday and he did well. Last night I inquired of David as to his hesitancy in putting Matthew in his crib and he said "I just didn't want him to be lonely." Almost makes me cry knowing David loves his son that much.

Well, we did it. Matthew slept well through the night and so did David and I. I actually slept pretty soundly, not waking up until 5 when it was time for him to eat. I was proud of Matthew for being a big boy and enjoying his room that we worked hard to create for him. I was proud of David and me as well for taking that next step. Oh, it will be no time when we'll be buying him another bed for college....ha!!

Here's some pictures of him snoozing in his bed. They are actually from this morning, but that just proves he slept all night there.

Way to go Matthew...you're doing great.

Getting ready for bed

Snoozing....

"This mattress hits in all the right places."

On another note, thanks to my sister in law for helping me get my Christmas decorations up inside yesterday. I was able to surprise David with that. And for the first time in 4 years our tree is finally in the front window of our house...Yea!! That has been a challenge but we finally found the right arrangement for everything.
8 days late  but David and I started reading Matthew his Christmas advent book last night.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
