Welcome Back to the Land of the Living!

For all the Pam Tillis fans in this world, I've had the song "Land of the Living" in my head all morning.

Just hurry back to the land of the living
Things have changed since you've been gone
The world is turning in the land of living
Take a deep breath, life goes on

My mom told me yesterday that I looked like myself for the first time yesterday and welcome back, which brough this song to my head. My goal yesterday was to straighten my hair...success!!!  Matthew, Gran and me went on an outing to meet my mom's best friend Judy Maggard at Baylor. It was good for Matthew to breath that good ol' Baylor air...he'll have to get used to that.

I had my first "alone" time trial yesterday for about 5 hours and it went well. I admit I did get a little lonely but it was good to be here and just rest my mind and heart. I took Matthew on a walk yesterday afternoon and it was good for both of us to get some sun on our face...the land of the living...ha! David and I took Matthew to meet a friend of ours as well last night and it was great to see David beam with pride when he shows off his boy.

David and I have compromised on a feeding schedule which has been working. David is taking the 10pm feeding and I go to bed around 9pm and get to sleep until about 2am. This has been a gift from David and helpful for me to make it longer through the day. I know it makes David tired but it is great for him to want to be involved in his son's life. Thank you David for being a part of the team and for loving on me and your son in an amazing way.

Last night, I had my first glass of wine since I found out I was pregnant at the end of February. It was good and definately helps you relax as I was getting VERY sleepy about 30 minutes after dinner. It was good for me to get some sleep and it helped me get to sleep more quickly.

Matthew and I are going to get ready soon to go over to Gran's house while my house gets cleaned. We are excited and ready to get out in the good weather. Here's some updated pics of our sweetie...such a perfect boy.

Matthew, we're doing great, aren't we??? We're figuring out this motherhood thing together and I appreciate you being a teacher to me of what it truly means to "just be". We are so quick to do all the time and it has taught me alot to watch you just be Matthew and be okay with that. I treasure every minute with you. Last night when you gazed back in my eyes for so long you just reached deep into my soul and tugged on strings I didn't even know I had. You are a joy, honor and such fun to get to know. Thank you for allowing your daddy and me to care for you.
I love you Matthew. Let's go have a great day.

He is so cute and has already changed so much! You are a great mother and believe me everything you are feeling is normal. Everyday gets easier and easier....I would love to take you to lunch or for a walk in the park one day next week if you feel up to it!
