Yesterday was our doctor appointment and we received a good report, though we have some things to think about.
First, our report:
-Matthew is head down, and she was able to touch him on the head. (I was a little jealous she was getting to touch him).
- We are dialated to 1 1/2 cm and she said my cervix was very soft. He's making his way down there.
- She does not think we'll go into labor in the next few days but did say he could come any day. She does keep mentioning him coming a week early. She does not think any of the contractions that I have had are "real" ones and I don't either, but they are preparing me for the real thing.
- I was told to take it easy and begin to make sure things are tied up at work, etc.
Second, what we have to think about:
I have begun to have some significant swelling in my legs mainly this past week. It can be quite uncomfortable and yesterday made my legs pretty sore. The doctor was concerned about it to and told us to begin thinking about me working shorter days, starting my leave earlier, etc. All those things are tough to think about because I just have to take my vacation and sick time, and Scott and White doesn't provide any paid leave benefits. So, the more time I take off, the more time that will be unpaid when Matthew arrives. However, our priority is health and promoting Matthew's health, so we'll trust that God has a plan for this and that He will direct our finances to cover this. We are going to see how today and this weekend go.
As for this weekend, we are in a wedding of our good friends Tim and Kim. We've got rehearsal dinner tonight and wedding festivities tomorrow. We're very excited to be participating in this and couldn't be happier for the future Payne family. I'll have to be mindful of myself and not do too much other than those things. We also have a shower in Temple for my work, which will be nice.
So things are going good and Matthew could show his pretty little head at anytime now. More to come and if you are going to the wedding this weekend, I'll be the one in the tent, some people will call it a dress.
