Comparing my belly to guys?!?!?

I'm in the gas station the other day, minding my own business in line waiting to buy my Gatorade. Of course there is always a mixture of people in the gas station at anytime to observe. Today, there was a man that was over at the lotto stand checking his tickets. It was obvious he came there alot as him and the cashier discussed his winnings and had small talk.

As he came to get in line, he noticed that I was pregnant (not really all that hard to do these days) and began to rub his belly, which was partially sticking out of the bottom of his t-shirt. I'm kind of paying attention to this guy but not really until he boldly asks, "How far along do you think I am?" Did this guy just ask me, the pregnant lady, how far along he is?!?!?  I fought the urge to make him the next star of that TLC show about a man having a baby and simply told him "I wasn't sure."

He then asked me the appropriate question of how far along I was, still continuing to rub his belly as if there was a child in there. I told him and hoped it was the end of the conversation. Of course not, I"m not that lucky. He stood up next to me and said "Yep, we might have the same due date, but I'm still a little bigger than you." At any point in my life when I start feeling weird around people, especially men, I always try to make a statement that mentions my husband in hopes the weird person will think he is lingering around the corner ready to pounce on him at any minute, and back up from talking to me. So I said, "Yea, all my husband's friends are comparing bellies as well." And then luckily, I was saved by the cashier because I was next in line.

I quickly checked out, got my Gatorade, and walked out of their trying not to laugh out loud because of this encounter. Yep, a guy just came and compared bellies with me...the joys of pregnancy.

People are so strange....especially at the gas station! That was a funny story though. I can't wait to meet Matthew! Almost time....let me know if you need anything this last month and especially after he is born!
