The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

It was great to have David back home this weekend and catch up with him and see him with Matthew...and, get a little bit of a break. When David met us at the airport on Friday he was amazed at how much he thought Matthew had grown over the week...he is a growing boy. I'm going to try to go this week and get him weighed at the doctors office as we are anxious to know how much he's growing.

The Good
On Friday night Matthew slept for 6 1/2 hours!!  This is the longest he's slept and we're thinking since he has started eating more that he will begin sleeping longer in the night. He woke up at 4:30 and David said "Pam, did you feed him at 1?" "No, did you?" "Nope."  So we were encouraged by that. We're still trying to figure it out and not rushing his progress.

We also had our Christmas party on Saturday with our Sunday School class and took Matthew along with us. He had a great time sleeping through it and getting held by all our friends. It was good to get out and visit and have fun with our friends and to share Matthew with them.

The Bad
We had a rough night getting him to sleep on Friday and about 10:30pm we checked his diaper and he had some blood in his stool. Of course, I was very worried so David called the doctor and they said that it was probably caused by me eating some dairy products. Well, I had eaten about half of a blizzard at lunch that day, so we're thinking that's what it was. He still has some small bits of blood but the doctor did not seem worried, so we're just keeping an eye on it.

I have been somewhat mindful of what I eat but never as much as since I have been breastfeeding. It makes you very aware of what you are eating and the possible effects it could have on your little one. I told David that maybe they should do a "breastfeeding diet" so people would be more aware of what they are eating because it is affecting others. Maybe I'll come up with that and make millions..ha!!

The Ugly
There's really not anything ugly going on except today I have been told by a few people that I look really tired today. So, after this post I've promised David I will take a nap so I don't become "the ugly" for today...there's always a strong potential when I'm tired.

David and I are going to transition Matthew into his crib tonight, please say a prayer, for me!! It will be fine (we really don't have that big of a house) it is just a change. It will be for the best and he will do great. We are going to try to get our Christmas tree up tonight. David has a fire in the fireplace and it just looks and feels like winter...should I say "It's Beginning to Look alot like Christmas??"  It will be fun to share Christmas with Matthew and continue and begin traditions with him.
