December...In a Nutshell

So December has long come and gone and I have yet, until today, to post anything about our month. I'm presenting December in a Nutshell in order to hit the highlights of our fun December and Christmas.

December 1st was the day me and the boys put up Christmas decorations. And yes, we were in shorts!

Some self shots of me and the Little Man

We're cool and we're cold and we're on the way to the Baylor/Texas game and last game at Floyd Casey.

The boys and I headed back out to hang in the truck after the 1st quarter. Papa was next to come out at halftime and Daddy and Zimmy met us at a restaurant after the whole game.

We hosted our Sunday School Christmas party and enjoyed all the families.

Two of our favorite little ladies celebrated their birthdays with PJs and Pancakes

Ms. Karlie

And Ms. Kinsey
Yep...already planning this one for their wedding day. Arranged marriage?!?! Absolutely!

We went to the Hewitt Parade and scored lots of candy.

Merry Christmas to All!!!  (3 outta 4 ain't bad, right?!?!)

Matthew had his music program at school

His class sang "Jingle Bells" and "Rudolph"

He's almost a head taller than some of those kids. Whew.

We then spent the rest of the morning with GaGa at the Mayborn Museum. We saw the train exhibit and got a little play time in.

One night while David was giving baths and getting jammies ready, I was packing the truck with hot chocolate, cookies and Christmas books. We drove around town looking at lights and had a great time together as a family.

The tree...a real one this year. A first for our family. (Note: Our tree was being put up at the same time as bath time, hence the naked booty in one of the shots)

Cookies....Check. Milk...Check.

 Reindeer food...check.

Ralphie (from the Christmas story) tryouts...check.
Christmas story read...check.

Bring on Christmas Day!!!

Matthew got a remote control trash truck from Santa
And Taylor got a slide from Santa.

We gave both of them a tool bench

Christmas Day afternoon we headed over to PaPa and GaGa's house to share some time with them.

Perfect end to a perfect day...hugs for everyone.
Taylor and Matthew went to do the children's sermon and this was Taylor's first time. Big brother took good care of him and even taught him how to give the poinsetta leaves a high five.

Random moments in the kitchen with Matthew taking pictures with my phone.
We went to Austin to see Aunt Susan, Sara and Aunt Rosy and had a nice lunch and time together.

And the month was wrapped up with wathcing the Cowboys with Daddy
and a date with Daddy to the zoo while Mommy worked New Year's Eve.

May your 2014 be as full as you allow it to be, still enough to see the beauty in the moment, and aware of all the connection and love around you.
