We're Diving In...

We have officialy dove in to Year One with Mr. Taylor! And when this happened and how the year crept by is beyond my comprehension so I have just forced myself to accept this fact. Taylor is one of the truly happiest kids. His personality is fun, laid back, intentional, and excited. He really has blessed our family with the idea of being complete and has complimented all of three of our lives so richly and well. Seeing how he was just the missing puzzle piece in our family has allowed us to see how family is just the coolest thing ever.

Here are some things he has been up to lately:
- He has transitioned to cow milk well. Though we still have breastmilk in the freezer that we slip in there every once in a while

- This boy wants to walk SOOOO bad. He will cruise around with his walker toys and push other toys around. He also will hold hands/finger with you but as soon as you even try to move your finger his booty hits the floor. One day soon our house will be all walking, running and on the move!

- He sleeps great, except when a tooth is pushing through. He goes to bed around 6:30-7 and wakes up about 12 hours later. Listening to him jabber in his bed in the morning is one of the sweeter times of my day
He also takes one nap in the afternoon.

- Seperation anxiety has been an issue as of late, especially with Mommy.

- No pacifier anymore....praise the Lord!

- He eats, and eats, and eats, and then eats a little more. Where Matthew was more of a milk drinker, Taylor said "Let me have the food" and there has been no turning back. He is eating all table foods, which is great because I can just make one meal for everyone again.

- He smiles all the time and is very ticklish. He is social but also enjoys the time by himself.

So enough facts, here are some pics of my little guy...

On August 10th we had his birthday for family and friends. We had it at GaGa and PaPa's pool for a "Diving into Year One" party. We felt so loved and appreciated that people would come and celebrate this moment in our little guy's life. He's pretty special to us but it's overwhelming sometimes to share that importance with so many others. Everyone that was there has served in some level of support and encouragement and shown love to our family so it was good to say thank you and celebrate!

And one special dude that also got celebrated was big brother, Matthew! We have continually been impressed with how loving and kind as well as accepting he has been to Taylor this year. We gave him a big truck for his "Big Brother" present to appreciate his involvement in the successful first year of life he gave Taylor. We're very proud of this guy and he did really well sharing the spotlight, even though we had MANY talks that morning about it not being his birthday.

Cakes made by Aunt JuJu and were super yummy.
Birthday boy....cruising around and playing a wonderful host to everyone.

Everyone enjoying the pool...It was hot!
It's Cake Time!!!!

Nope, not a fan...He had just eaten dinner and I think he had just partied his little self out.

But I'm still pretty cute.

My most favorite people, and now my favorite picture as of right now

We had lots of work to do opening presents and lots of helpers to help in that process. Taylor was slightly overwhelmed but seemed to understand that something exciting was going on. Matthew was the wonderful manager and delegator that he is and took charge for getting this process done. Thank you for all the goodies as we have loved sharing them with Taylor (and Matthew) and seeing him enjoy his new things.

After everyone left we all had the "after party" in our jammies while we cleaned up. This little guy got a big time second wind and was laughing and talking.

Wednesday, August 14th, was his actual birthday and we took another opportunity to celebrate this day as it is just his day. GaGa and PaPa came over for dinner and cake and Taylor definately enjoyed the cake much more this time.

We let him open our presents at that time and he seemed to really enjoy that, to include hiding in the bags.

And who needs instructions when you have Big Brother there to help demonstrate how to use your toys.

Taylor,
To say we were blessed by you would be an understatement. It has been a blessing though to see how much you complement our family and bring us together even more than we were...which was pretty close. You have taught us balance, fun, flexibility, how to be still and watch, the joy of babble, and how much more our hearts can melt when you smile at us. When you call us "Dada" or "Mama" or "BaBa" we know you know who we are and we pray that each day you know you are loved, accepted and needed in our family. May you feel loved and appreciated and always find a safe place to land in our family and home.
I love you little guy.
