Old Fashion Fun

The other day I was feeling nostalgic, not sure why (and no I'm not pregnant). But as I thought back over our day I realized we did some just good old fashion fun.

My favorite comfort food meal is poached eggs on toast. But not anyone's poached eggs, only my mothers and still at 30 years old, she has to cut them as well. She has a perfect way of cutting each egg and piece of toast equally so that each piece has just enough egg juice to be considered perfection!! So....I decided that I would pass that on to my kiddo and made those for lunch. I sent her the picture stating "The baton has been passed." She quickly responded with "You even cut them yourself."  They were also a hit with Matthew as well.

We then found some old Atari games to play. Matthew was into the race car games.

We then all took a walk and found some sticks. I didn't know a stick could be so fun. They can be bats, swords, shovels, elephant trunks, thermometers to poke dog's booty with (yes, that happened), and anything else only limited by one 3 year old's imagination.

We got home and chopped some of the sticks. Good thing Taylor was chilling in the stroller as it quickly became our log truck.

Then I looked up a recipe for playdough and we made some of that for the afternoon. Messy! But definately fun and it has continued to hold up even to today.

All of this in a day of nostalgia and fun!! I love these kids.
