Taylor's 3 week Update

Oh, what was life like without Taylor around...he certainly has come and filled a great place in our lives. It's been a challenge as well as a joy to learn the balance of two boys and God has been more than amazing to us in how seemingly easy that has been. It is a testiment to answered prayer as the things we are experiencing now are the very things we asked for.

We took Taylor to the doctor this past Tuesday for his 3 week visit and got a great report. He truly is a good baby.  He weighs 8lb 14oz (he was 7lb 10oz at birth) and was 21 inches. He was the 50th percentile in height, weight and head circumference. I was happy to see that he had gained so much weight as he looked as though he was filling out more. The other reason is that we also found out he has the same milk protein allergy that Matthew had. Since I am breastfeeding I am now on a diet that excludes all dairy and milk products...pay attention to your food sometime and realize how much that includes. I have been looking back at recipes that I had before with Matthew to remind myself what we ate. Taylor had blood in his stool and we are hoping that his discomfort subsides soon, though it could take a few weeks for the inflammation to settle down.

Other interesting facts of Taylor recently are:
He eats every 3-4 hours and is eating about 4.5 oz at a time.
He is a calm kid that really only cries when hungry or wet.
He is sleeping at night from about 1am-6am, which is good for three weeks.
He follows voices and really pays attention to big brothers voice
He has gone on many outings already, to include gaga and papa's house, Marci's house for "swimming", and the grocery store.
Most of all he talks and looks at you with such a sense of wonder and trust that it makes your heart just melt and overflow with pride and love.

So overall, things are going well, This morning I took Matthew AND Taylor to our Thursday morning routine of donuts and grocery shopping, Though a little rocky at first it ended up being great. /i'm excited about this special time with both of my boys now.
