Easter Sunday Festivities

He Has Risen!!!

It is such a refreshing and renewing time of year right now and Easter is symbolic of that restoration that we are afforded through the sacrifice of Jesus. And it is always a joy to celebrate as a family. With David busy with taxes right now, we haven't seen him alot so it was a blessing to have him all day yesterday and just be able to relax.

Matthew had a visit from the Easter bunny and was excited about his trains and trucks. They went EVERYWHERE with us the rest of the day.

"What did Easter bring?"

Checking out his Thomas trains

This was the best "smile" I could get early in the morning

Our tradition since David and I were dating has been to go to a sunrise service, then breakfast and then to our church. This year we tried out a service just down the road from our house which was good, except it was a little longer than the ones we've done before. I was a little nervous that Matthew sat quietly through one service he wouldn't be able to do it again, but he likes to prove me wrong. He did great through all of our services and got some energy out when we went to McDonalds in between for breakfast.

After church we headed to GaGa and Papa's house for lunch and egg hunt. I tried to get some good pictures of him but running around like a crazy man was more fun.

Though we did get a good one here.

On Friday, Matthew spent some time with GaGa and this is what they decorated while he was there. This was our yummy dessert after lunch.

And then the hunt began....

Filling up his basket

He got tired of holding the basket so Papa held it and he got the eggs

Then Daddy carried it

And we topped it all off with some swinging "really high"

Later that day after naps, a walk to find crawdads, it started storming. I was cleaning up in the house and couldn't find these two. They were just chiling together watching the rain talking on the back porch. A good end to a great day.

May we all remember that each day is a Resurrection Sunday and there is hope and life there.
