Snowman Shuffle

This weekend we participated in the Jingle Bell Run, which David's work is highly involved in. We've done it before, but not with Matthew. It was fun to be there as a family. David and I have dreams of Matthew running with us and doing events with us as he gets older. We walk every night (unless its below freezing) and Matthew loves it and goes for a while.

So, we decided this year to try out the Snowman Shuffle for Matthew. Its a kids race for kids ages 2-10. It is supposed to be about a half mile (which is what we walk at night), but we think their measuring was off as it seemed much longer. Our little guy seemed to be excited about it and it definately wore him out.

Before the race:
Didn't want to wear the bells

Enjoyed showing Santa everything on the way in.

We're cold....

At the start line. No joke...my kid was stretching pulling his leg up. Think he is from a running family!?!?

The race:
Starting off...doing good.

He got a little tired...but had some good people/parents to carry him through

Action shots

Half way at the North Pole

At the finish line...come on Matthew!!!

Everyone was cheering him on...notice he's not looking as he almost ran into the camera man

Coming across...look at that focus.

Post Race:
He got a finisher ribbon. He came in dead last, but probably had the shortest legs out there. I think the next oldest was probably 7 or 8.

Got lots of time to play with our friend Jackson afterwards

So precious.
