Veteran's Day Parade 2010

Last week was Veteran's Day and is always a special time to remember all the sacrifices that have and continue to be made for our freedom. Patriotism will surely be a part of Matthew's life as it is vitally important to his parents and many generations that have come before him. We've had Purple Hearts, many veterans, career military, and hearts that beat faster when the Star Spangled Banner is played and feet that tap excitedly as a patriotic march is played.

So, this Veteran's Day I decided to take Matthew to the parade in downtown Waco. It really turned out to be a great parade, it was an hour and a half long. Lots of groups and veterans were there. We had the honor to stand next to a World War II veteran, who loved getting candy for Matthew.

It was just a great time to do something different but also to instill in Matthew those important things about freedom and sacrifice, even though he doesn't know about it yet.

Looking cute in my Red, White and Blue

Parade's are so much fun!!

Playing Peek-a-Boo with the light pole

I wish they would close the streets off more often so Mommy would let me run in the street

The first part of the parade (and the last picture before my battery died)

Good Times at the parade and thank you all Veterans and current soldiers who daily gave and give to protect my freedoms and my families.
