- Matthew weighs in at 13.6 lbs, measures 23 inches long, and he head has grown almost 3 inches in circumference.
- He continues to have his food allergy, however the lab work from last visit came back negative for any big infections. Therefore, I've been put on a pretty restrictive diet for no milk, egg, soy, shellfish and nuts. I've been doing good since we haven't had any blood for a week. The doctor continued to encourage me and also my breastfeeding saying it will be better in the end.
- He was pleased with his weight gain and says he's probably leveled out on the amount he is taking in...5 ounces. He plans on introducing foods to him soon, since his weight is so good. He also said breast fed babies tend to plump up and then lean out by 5-6 months.
- Matthew got his 2 month shots...6 of them. He did well and so did mom and dad. He cried but was okay a few minutes afterwards. He took a good nap when we got home but then was upset and cried for a good 30 minutes but then was okay and has been fine since then. I'm grateful that he did so well with these.
- We got the things we needed for starting day care and the doctor felt like he would do great there. Mommy still needs to be convinced of that...ha!
- The doctor adjusted his reflux medications and I think we'll have better results with that.
- He was pleased with him sleeping 6 hours a night and said that was good. He said he could go longer if he wanted to, but didn't think he would go much longer than that. He said to look for 4 months as a bench mark to drop his 12am feeding...David will be happy about that since that's his only feeding.
I will start back work part time on Monday. I'm struggling with the thought of being away from him but that is the way it has to be right now. I will love getting him from day care and will cherish our times the 4 days I'm at home. We're looking forward to New Years Eve as we are having dinner with our good friends the Huse and we'll celebrate with feeding Matthew at 12 and a glass of champagne, I'm sure with one eye open.
