This weekend, Friday and Saturday, the Just Give Me Jesus conference was in Waco where Anne Graham Lotz, Billy Graham's daughter spoke. Of course, Matthew went with me and I'm pretty sure he enjoyed it!! Ha! At one point my aunt said "This is Matthew's first woman's conference", to which I replied laughing, "It will probably be his last." When he gets here, I'm excited about David getting to take him to guy conferences and activites together, because it was a joy for me to go with my mom and Aunt Susan. It's pretty cool bonding time and I'm excited about doing activities and living life with Matthew.
The conference was amazing. I had tried to talk myself out of it all week, but I'm so grateful I went because God met me there and there was real practical teaching as well. Amazing speakers and very genuine. I could go on and on and I'm excited about applying the things I learned in my life.
One thing that was cool to think about was when they were teaching about prayer and giving tips about how to teach your kids about this. They were saying that at the dinner table the family could do "Please", "Thank You" and "I'm Sorry" Prayers. I thought this was a great way to incorporate that into Matthew's life and a way for us to attempt to be an example of this in his life. Hopefully we will be committed to doing this.
As David woke up this morning, Sunday, he exclaimed "Pam, this is a big day today." Thinking I was forgetting something that was happening at church or in our life, I asked, "What is it?" To which he replied beaming with blue and gray...."It's Matthew's first Cowboy game!!" And of course, the Cowboys did open up regular season play today and beat the pants off Tampa Bay. As I sat feeling Matthew wiggle around, I wondered if he was practicing his kicking, passing, catching or tackling skills. David thinks he was tackling the ambilical cord. One thing I'm sure of is I'm going to have to figure out how to keep Matthew napping during the games since David gets pretty loud if the Boys aren't doing so good. I can already picture Matthew laying on his Daddy watching the games together.
Hopefully this week will include me getting the kitchen ready for bottles, cups, etc. That is the goal at least. Thank you for everyone's support and we're getting close...46 days!!
