Today, we've reached 33 weeks, which calculates to 49 days until Matthew comes, hopefully. It does seem sometimes that time just stands still when waiting for him to come. Ask anyone who knows me when I'm excited about something, its 110% excited about it. I mean, Christmas comes at the same time every year but I get so excited about it that it seems like it takes longer every year. So, we can only imagine the excitement for our little guy to get here. Time flows like molasses to me these days.
However, my brother and sister-in-law from California will be coming at the beginning of October so that will provide a great distraction from things. We also have a wedding of our dear friends, Tim and Kim, on October 10th so that will make for some fun as well. So, I just need to continue to keep myself occupied but also be okay with letting Matthew "cook" a little longer. My belly button has not popped yet, but I'm convinced that when it does, Matthew is done and he's coming.
David is working very hard at work this week and the beginning part of next week for a September 15th deadline so he has been beat as well. I try and be the good wife for him when he's working hard and have dinner and a frosty Miller Lite for him when he gets home...sometimes I'm successful, sometimes its a smile, kiss, and it will be ready in a little while. As I've said before, David has been great, and it is so fun watching his face light up when he feels Matthew kicking or squirming and hearing him talk to him. Makes me tear up a little just thinking about it. I'm pretty sure he'll get the World's Greatest Dad award this year.
Well, we head back to the doctor next Thursday and we're excited (I guess is the right word) about beginning to talk to our doctor about our labor plans and what all that entails. We plan to begin really practicing all those techniques in class that we learned, though it turns into more of a "Who can laugh harder" contest for David and me. We knew we were successful when we didn't bust out laughing during our childbirth class, but were able to keep it for the car ride home...oh the joys!
More updates and thoughts about what's going on soon...
